Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to leave Juventus at the end of the season.
The Portuguese forward has 15 months remaining on his current contract but is apparently ready to cut short his stay in Turin.
The two clubs Ronaldo is most strongly linked with joining are Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford before joining Real Madrid, where he played for nine seasons.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is said to have grown frustrated at Juventus’ poor showing in the Champions League, with the Italian giants being knocked out in the last-16 by Porto this season.
According to Eurosport, Ronaldo has even instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to get the ball rolling and orchestrate a summer move.
Real Madrid appears Ronaldo’s most likely destination, with Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane even suggesting the Spanish giants are ready to welcome the forward back home.
“Yes, there may be [some truth in the rumours],” Zidane said. “We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.
“But now he’s a Juventus player and we must respect this. Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.”
But Man United would likely be delighted to welcome Ronaldo home too, especially as Edinson Cavani looks certain to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season.
And if Ronaldo’s comments on United throughout the years are to be believed, then there is every chance the Portuguese may just sign on the dotted line with the Red Devils.
