Gunmen Kill 51 People in Kaduna, Northern State in Nigeria
Suspected bandits in Nigeria have reportedly killed about 51 people in attacks on four communities in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The incident which which took place on Sunday affected Kerawa, Zareyawa and Marina all in Kerawa Ward of the local government.
According to a report by Daily Trust newspaper, the attackers stormed the villages around 6 a.m shortly after Muslim morning prayer.
Dayyabu Kerawa, the councillor of Kerawa Ward said, “We don’t know who they were; they only stormed the villages and started shooting people. As we speak, 51 people have been buried; while the injured were taken to the hospital”.
He also confirmed that those who sustained injuries have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country of more than 200 million is experiencing attacks by armed groups targeting remote villages in the country’s northwest for their livestock and granaries.
