Here&Now: Chief Gani Adams, Aare Ona Kankanfo Celebrates 51st Birthday (Video)
Recently, Chief Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yorubaland turned 51. And a mammoth crowd of well wishers from all walks of life thronged the event venue to celebrate him.
The highlights of the occasion included the cutting of the cake. And to do it, tons of close family and friends joined him. They did it to the spelling of LIFE while an apt music by Evi Edna Ogholi played at the background.
Right after the cake cutting were lots of light flashes, an indication of several photos being taken of the Aare and his close circle of friends and family.
And after a short recitation by the MC, came the other major highlight of the occasion: presentation of scholarships worth 200k each to 4 university students who came tops in their respective faculties in their respective universities, namely: UnIbadan, UniLag, Lasun, and OAU, Ife.
The Aare Ona Kankanfo himself, Chief Gani Adams was the first to be interviewed.
Followed immediately by his wife, Ayaba Mojisola Adams.
And then that which is never missing in a typical Yoruba happy ceremony: spraying of money.
Next to be interviewed was Mrs Blessing Esho.
And then Oba Joseph Morohunfoye who spoke in Yoruba had these wonderful and prayerful words to say about the Aare, his position in Yoruba land, and the occasion.
“I thank God that I am part of the 51st birthday celebration of Aare Ona Kankanfo. By the grace of God, he occupies a strong position in Yoruba land. I pray for him to have good health and long life in that position. And I pray we’re alive to celebrate him next year as well. I greet all the kings and friends who came too. May God be with us all. Thank you.”
And like Oba Joseph Morohunfoye, all others who were interviewed had only good things to say about the Aare and they all prayerfully wished him long life.
From Citymoods…we wish the Aare Ona Kankanfo many, many more years of healthy and fruitful life.
