Here&Now: The Wedding of Adefolake and Joseph (Video)
In these days of dire scarcity of husband and wife materials, the joy parents feel when their children get married is understandably boundless.
Which is why you won’t be far from being right if you say the theme of the Folake/Joseph wedding reception is Parental Joy.
It is expressed in the way the parents of the bride and their friends and family danced joyously into the hall.
Parental Joy is unmistakable again in her words when the mother of the bride, Mrs Oluwakemi Adeoye was interviewed.
And when Dele Adeoye, father of the bride was interviewed too, what would one call everything he expressed if not parental joy?
Now, watch how the parents of the groom and their family and friends danced into the hall. Notice the obvious parental joy radiating from them all.
Mrs Olowokere spoke to Citymoods in Yoruba. What joy she expressed! What prayers!
“I thank God for today. If you could open up my insides now, you’d see pure joy there! And I pray that as the children began their marriage with joy today, they never regret it. That they would always remember today and be ever joyful. That they have both male and female children and experience the joy of marrying them out like we are experiencing today. And I pray that all those in attendance today get to experience the joy I have today.”
Right after her, Citymoods spoke with Chief Bolaji Olowokere, the groom’s father. Joy was apparent in his words too.
Even friends and well wishers are joyful too when loved ones get married. You will hear such joy in the words of Mayowa, Deborah, and Lizzy.
Finally the groom, Joseph Olowokere Ajibola. And his sense of humour immediately came to the fore.
This brief couple dance gives you a little preview into the comparability of the new couple.
Then came the cutting of the cake, and then the ceremonial feeding.
And finally the dance floor was cleared for just the new couple.
From Citymoods to Folake and Joseph…Happy married life.
