Member of Manchester United backroom staff taken to hospital by ambulance after falling ill overnight in Perth
Amember of Manchester United’s backroom staff has been taken ill overnight in Perth.
The staffer was taken to the Royal Perth Hospital on Friday after an ambulance was called to the Crown Towers resort in Burswood where the team are staying while in Australia on the first leg of their pre-season tour.
The person – whose identity has yet to be revealed – was seen by United’s club doctor, Steve McNally, before being taken to hospital.
Local reports said the ambulance was seen arriving at hospital without its lights or sirens on under heavy security at about 3pm on Friday – 8am in the UK – and that the staff member was hidden behind a sheet as they were wheeled in.
