Viewshot: Nigerian Students Speak Over ASUU Strike, Its Impact (Video)

ASUU, i.e the Academic Staff Union of Universities. And, as we speak, this union is at loggerheads with the federal ministry of education.

And this is just one of its innumerable loggerheads with the education ministry over the years, resulting in unnecessary elongations in university course durations in Nigeria.

A friend said he spent 13 years in the university for a five-year course. Many of the extra years were as a result of incessant ASUU strikes.

Now, another face-off between ASUU and the federal ministry of education is on and no one can say how long this will last.

But think of it: why does ASUU even need to go on strike at all, let alone doing it so regularly?  What effect does the current one have on university students?

Citymoods reporter, Lilian went to the Unilag campus to sample students’ opinions and here is her report.
